This week, our furniture focus is on the best buys for indoors and out.  We wave a heartfelt hello to spring, and relish the opportunity to enjoy our gardens and update our interiors with crisp, fresh fabrics and beautiful natural materials.  Gone are the shackles of winter, good riddance to heavy curtains and cashmere throws, we are a lighter, brighter and more invigorated Conran Shop this week.

Featuring Wardour Table, Wishbone Chair and Ghost Sofa

What is The Conran Shop if not the perfect destination to fulfil your home rejuvenation dreams.  With an eclectic mix of old and new, classic and quirky, we hand-pick the best furniture finds to make your home a unique blend of what you love.  Spring challenges us to throw back our Georgian shutters and fall in love with our homes, to create a haven for entertaining and throw caution to the wind by investing in essentials that will create sunnier spaces for years to come.

This week we focus on a few icons that we love…read on for some interior delights.

Jasper Conran, Wardour Table, £4,795

The Wardour Table is a masterpiece of simple, clean design that combines form and function seamlessly.  Designed as part of a collection by Jasper Conran, the Wardour table is an inviting dining space that makes the hub of the home that little bit more polished.  Made from sustainable solid oak, the raw wooden top withstands all sorts of buffing and scrubbing whilst the oiled legs are hardy against scuffs and scrapes.

The Wishbone Chair needs very little explanation, particularly because we talk about it quite a lot and love it a lot.  However, it must be said that this design looks as relevant today as it did when it was conceived in 1949.  With over 100 separate manual processes and a frame of steam-bent, hand-whittled wood, the Wishbone chair is our perfect dining chair.  Or maybe it should go beside the bed, or in the window, or at our desk.  With 8 options available, we could have one everywhere, where would you put yours?

With sumptuous cushions, a crisp, white Lino Biancho cover and generous proportions, the Ghost Sofa is the sort of plush, luxurious perch you wish to dive into at any given moment.  Eminent Italian designer Paula Navone has a habit of creating the kind of essential, squidgy furnishings that anyone would love to own.  See her Gray 07 Armchair for another example of a contemporary style that wouldn’t look out of place in a minimalist studio or a rambling townhouse.

Nanna Ditzel, Hanging Egg Chair, £1,995

And now for the great outdoors…

We are equally taken with Nanna Ditzel’s hanging Egg Chair and its elegant, simple design.  Pop this into your garden and transport yourself to a luxe Moroccan riad in a flash.  Made from the highest quality rattan, with the mark of quality you get from Italian craftsmanship, this is a great way to inject something different into your garden, whether it is a secluded nook or rolling gardens.

Our last icon of the day is the ultimate addition to lazy Sundays when you only have a drink and a book for company.  The cool, modern and minimalist lines of the Richard Schultz Chaise Longue wouldn’t look out of place next to the pool of an LA hotel.  In fact, it was originally designed in 1966 as a commission from Florence Knoll for her home in Florida, so we aren’t that far off.  Position yours on a lawn, poolside or squeezed onto a city roof-terrace, either way you can look at it and love it for a lifetime.

Richard Schultz, Chaise Longue, £2,004
